The Rebellious Room was an interactive exhibition held in 2025, curated by Yanru Hu. The exhibition sought to reawaken the audience’s perception of everyday objects and domestic space. Centered around the idea of the “rebellious potential of the home,” it challenged conventional notions of domesticity and invited viewers to reconsider the subtle relationships between objects and emotions, materiality and memory.

Bringing together interdisciplinary works by multiple artists, the exhibition featured narrative-driven design pieces by YDMD Studio; sculptures by Katya Bobina that explored the interplay between structure and emotion; glass artworks by Lu Shan that captured both the fragility and resilience of the home through light and reflection; and poetry by Will Rose, which infused the space with language and imaginative warmth. Together, these works formed a fluid domestic scene—at once familiar and unsettling—inviting the audience to engage physically and emotionally with the space.
